Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov Meets with Foreign Ministers of Türkiye and Iran at UN

EIRNS—Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov held meetings individually with the Turkish and Iranian Foreign Ministers on the sidelines of a United Nations Security Council meeting.

In Lavrov’s meeting with Türkiye’s Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, the two discussed cooperation on seeking a resolution to the Gaza conflict, They also discussed the upcoming official visit of Russian President Vladimir Putin to Türkiye, but a date has yet to be set.

With his Iranian counterpart, Lavrov and Hossein Amir-Abdollahian also “had a comprehensive exchange of opinions on the current agenda in the Middle East and expressed their support for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza and securing conditions for humanitarian assistance to the residents of the enclave.
